Coaching
As a systemic coach with an aid worker background it is my special concern to offer support to expatriates and repatriates. Working in the field of humanitarian assistance has shown that „duty of care“ is an important element within our work, but often gets forgoten or is not seen as priority
I am offering coaching (also online) for:
- Expatriates (focus: humanitarian aid worker)
- Returning expats.
To keep the motivation for the work and to avoid burning out.
To reflect individual ideas and personal competences of the coachee.
To look carefully at the special requirements in the international environment and to offer exchange on eye level.
Coaching for Expats
Working in foreign countries is especially challenging. Very often working conditions are extreme and require special attention. Reflection of own actions and thought patterns is not priority. Options to start change processes get put aside and are not being realized.
Coaching is supposed to support to re-think action and – in case necessary – to initiate changes. It can show alternative ways and can give an impulse to either retain or regain motivation in order to avoid burn-out. Coaching can also support to solve conflicting situations and to answer carrier related questions
Coaching for Returning Expats
Coming back home from intense (emergency) missions, feeling like a stranger and burnt-out, not being able to talk to anyone about the experiences. Not knowing how to continue? Feeling the wish to start something new, but not knowing the next step?
Through the process of coaching old habits can be looked at and new ways can be explored.
